Devona M. Thomas is the founder of BMT Publishing LLC and The BMT Center in Terrell, Texas — a woman-owned, veteran-owned, and minority-owned publishing house dedicated to telling stories that inspire, challenge, and transform.

A Navy Reserve veteran with over 20 years of service, a graduate counseling student, and a multi-genre author, Devona writes across fiction, biography, children's books, and devotional literature. Her work reflects her Texas roots, her deep faith, and her commitment to community — from the courthouse square in Kaufman to the counseling students she hopes to one day serve.

She is the author of the Still Becoming devotional and companion journal series, the Kaufman Christmas Trilogy, the Hometown Heroes biography series, and the I AM Learning children's book series.

She is also the host of Respectfully Tired — a podcast for the emotionally exhausted, overextended, and still healing.

When Joe was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease, it was Tammie's unwavering faith and selfless act of love that saved his life. On December 29, 2023, she became his living kidney donor — demonstrating not only the power of faith and courage but also the profound strength of true love.

Together, Joe and Tammie share their story to encourage others to trust God through every season of life, to nurture their health, and to love without limits. Their testimony serves as a living reminder that miracles still happen, that faith still moves mountains, and that love truly conquers all.
